RUN FOR IT is a 2k (1.2M) walk and USATF- certified 5k (3.1M) race around the scenic mountain town of Davis, WV during Leaf Peepers Festival. The event raises funds and awareness for community organizations, projects, nonprofit agencies, educational activities, and charities located within the Foundation’s service area (see map below). Speed is not required to win.

At its heart, RUN FOR IT has two goals:
1. To encourage participation in a healthy activity (running & walking).
2. To leverage funds for area causes.

Entry fee proceeds, team sponsor support, and cash awards benefit the racer's favorite:

Maintenance, utilities, and housekeeping for nearly 1,000 complimentary nights' lodging in The Davis House ($9,100)

Transportation assistance, medication, dental services, and medical supplies or equipment for nearly 300 Patients from our Patients Cancer Assistance Fund ($15,000)

These funds will help us purchase, upgrade and maintain our equipment so that our staff can be fully equipped to provide care to our kids!

We help families and children by facilitating time with our gifted horses. We never charge a fee for our services. Children with Autism and other challenges can greatly benefit from working with horses. This helps the children build relationships and develop a positive sense of self. We also host a Day Summer Camp for kids that is free for those who normally can't afford to attend.

To be eligible, clients, must be over 60 years of age or disabled with no age requirements.
