RUN FOR IT is a 2k (1.2M) walk and USATF- certified 5k (3.1M) race around the scenic mountain town of Davis, WV during Leaf Peepers Festival. The event raises funds and awareness for community organizations, projects, nonprofit agencies, educational activities, and charities located within the Foundation’s service area (see map below). Speed is not required to win.

At its heart, RUN FOR IT has two goals:
1. To encourage participation in a healthy activity (running & walking).
2. To leverage funds for area causes.

Entry fee proceeds, team sponsor support, and cash awards benefit the racer's favorite:

While we are striving toward construction of a new library building, it is also very important to keep our current library operations at the highest level possible. The proceeds from the 2017 Run For It will be used for the purchase of books, programming, supplies, and technology (40%), as well as contributing towards the Mountaintop Public Library New Building Match Fund (60%).
