Mountaintop Readers | Captain Ivonne Martinez Cause: Public libraries ensure that education, knowledge, and technology are available to everyone, and in our small rural community the library is a lifeline for many! The proposed defunding of the Institute of Museum and Library Services at the federal level will have a profound impact on all libraries in WV, especially our own Mountaintop Public Library. While we are striving toward construction of a new library building, it is also very important to keep our current library operations at the highest level possible. The proceeds from the 2017 Run For It will be used for the purchase of books, programming, supplies, and technology (40%), as well as contributing towards the Mountaintop Public Library New Building Match Fund (60%).
