The 24-hour crowd-funding event used local, state, and national giving to empower and equip people in TCF’s service area to invest in their communities. More than four community foundations serving 24 counties in West Virginia and 8,000 additional nonprofit organizations throughout America participated, making it one of the biggest giving days in history.  In 2014, communities participating in Give Local America raised more than $53 million for local communities. This year, Give Local America raised over $68 million!

“We were excited about the turnout and participation by so many members of our community,” said Diane Hinkle, Development Director of Tucker Community Foundation. “This is a testimony to how much our community cares about meeting needs right here at home. We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated.”  Over forty people came through the office to donate in person.  The EMS joined the fun and brought an ambulance to gain attention for the EMS fund, and it worked, donors added $1225 to the Tucker County EMS fund .

“Give2WV was a great way to promote giving and keeping it local for long-term community needs right here in the Potomac Highlands.  Our featured funds gained critical support on May 5-6,” said Hinkle.
