May 18, 2015 – The Tucker Community & Economic Development (TED) Fund doubled its value as donors took advantage of the $1 for $1 match incentive by “giving local” during the recent Give Local America Day campaign.

TED benefits the charitable economic development of Tucker County.  Grant awards will be recommended by an advisory committee consisting of donors and other county representatives.

Grants from the fund may be used for community development activities (real estate acquisition, relocation, demolition, rehabilitation of housing and commercial buildings), construction of public facilities and improvements (such as water, sewer, and other utilities, street paving, and sidewalks), construction and maintenance of community centers, and the conversion of school buildings, public services, and economic development and job creation/retention activities.  TED funds can also be used for preservation and restoration of historic properties in underserved neighborhoods.

The minimum fund requirement of $10,000 will require an additional $1,700 in donations and matching funds.  Donations from businesses and the general public help to increase the impact of the fund. For more information call 304-478-2930 or 304-259-5008.
