RUN FOR IT is a 2k (1.2M) walk and USATF- certified 5k (3.1M) race around the scenic mountain town of Davis, WV during Leaf Peepers Festival. Raise funds and awareness for community organizations, projects, nonprofit agencies, educational activities, and charities located within the Foundation’s service area (see map below). Speed is not required to win.

At its heart, RUN FOR IT has two goals:
1. To encourage participation in a healthy activity (running & walking).
2. To leverage funds for area causes.

The proposed defunding of the Institute of Museum and Library Services at the federal level will have a profound impact on all libraries in WV, especially our own Mountaintop Public Library. While we are striving toward construction of a new library building, it is also very important to keep our current library operations at the highest level possible. The proceeds from the 2017 Run For It will be used for the purchase of books, programming, supplies, and technology (40%), as well as contributing towards the Mountaintop Public Library New Building Match Fund (60%). The continued support of our community is greatly appreciated.
