Are you looking for a way to positively impact your community while staying active and healthy? Look no further than the Run For It program, developed by the Tucker Community Foundation in 2007. This program encourages participation in healthy activities while raising much-needed support, and awareness for non-profit organizations, civic organizations, and charities in our eight-county service region of Barbour, Grant, Mineral, Pocahontas, Preston, and Tucker Counties in West Virginia and Garrett County in Maryland.

Join a team representing non-profit and charitable organizations to raise support through entry fees, team sponsorship, and race day awards. Half of the entry fees, 100% of team sponsor donations, and 100% of race day awards go towards your team’s chosen cause. Plus, the Foundation provides the initial funding for the race awards purse, and race sponsors supplement these awards, leading to 100% cash awards for teams across numerous award categories.

By participating in Run For It, you’ll be supporting a wide range of causes that make a difference in our community, including the arts, animal welfare, challenged athletes, charities, churches, civic organizations, community improvement projects, cultural organizations, educational activities, emergency services, environmental causes, historic preservation, hospital and medical programs, libraries and literacy programs, non-profit organizations, parks and recreation, senior citizen programs, Tucker Community Foundation operations, and youth organizations.

The annual Run For It campaign begins on April 1, 2024, and will culminate with a 2k walk and 5k run/walk on September 28, 2024, in Davis, WV, during the annual Leaf Peeper’s Festival. Deadline for submission of t-shirt orders.

September 9:

Deadline for submission of team sponsorships.

September 21:

Deadline for submission of virtual team photo collages in consideration of the Best Team Photo Collage Award.

September 27:

Racer check-in, packet pick-up, and registration at the Davis Fire Hall from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.

September 28 – RACE DAY:

8:00 – 9:30 AM: Final race registration.

11:00 AM: Race start

1:00 PM: Award ceremony
