Racers of all ages and abilities race for their favorite community cause.

May 18, 2016 – Tucker Community Foundation’s Run For It registration opened April 1, and 37 teams, hailing from six counties, are already registered with more expected before the July 1 team registration deadline.  The annual 2k walk/5k race raises funds and awareness for community causes in Barbour, Grant, Mineral, Preston, Pocahontas, Randolph and Tucker counties, WV and Garrett County, MD.

Generous race sponsors and the Tucker Community Foundation are providing more than $83,000 for race awards to motivate the young and old, and everyone in between, to participate in a healthy activity and community philanthropy.  Team captains will be recruiting team members and team sponsors from now through race day on September 24.  Their hard work will leverage cash awards for their cause.  In 2015, more than $189,000 from team sponsorships and awards was distributed to over 50 community causes.

New this year, the Foundation has added an award category for First to Finish 2K for entrants who are 80 years and older, as well as leaderboard prizes for teams with the most entrants or money raised on August 1.  Visit our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/tourofdavisrunforit) for current leaders.
