Luzader Awarded H. Max Price Scholarship
Charity E. Luzader of Fairview, WV has been awarded the H. Max Price Scholarship by the Tucker Community Foundation Board of Directors. Luzader is the daughter of Arthur and Christine Luzader. She is a graduate of Clay-Batelle High School with plans to pursue a nursing degree from Fairmont State University.
The H. Max Price Scholarship Fund was endowed in 1992 by officials of Power Construction & Maintenance, Inc to honor the memory of their founder and president. PCM, Inc. was originally located in Thomas, WV and now operates out of Altavista, VA. The award is distributed annually to traditional and/or non-traditional applicants who will be attending an accredited trade school with preference given to a current PCM, Inc. and/or one of its subsidiary employees and/or their family members. If no trade school applicants, other prospective students will be eligible.
Thirty-eight Foundation scholarships were awarded this spring to students from an eight-county region. Awards are based on a competitive application process that occurs in the spring. Funding is provided by income generated from Endowed Funds managed by the Foundation, pass-through donations, and income from the Kep and Alice Smith Trust. 2011 awards ranged from $500 to $4,000.
