The cost of reserving a table is $200 per table. However, please bear in mind that seating is extremely limited for this event. In order to ensure that all of our guests can be accommodated, we will be seating additional guests at tables reserved for parties of less than 10. We kindly ask that all table reservations be made in person at the Tucker Community Foundation’s office.

Every year, the Foundation hosts Uncle Sam’s Birthday Party, an annual elimination dinner in Canaan Valley that serves as the grandest fundraiser for the Foundation. The event brings together our friends, donors, and supporters to provide unrestricted grant and scholarship awards to local organizations and students in our eight-county service region and crucial general operating funds for the Foundation. Your participation in this event directly contributes to the betterment of our local community and celebrates our collective achievements.

Since its inception in 1990, Uncle Sam’s Birthday Party has been instrumental in introducing the Foundation’s important work to a captivated audience, expanding its reach, and creating opportunities for the communities it serves. The 2023 event was a tremendous success, with a sell-out crowd and the generous support of numerous local business partners who provided funding, gifts, and prizes.

The event’s remarkable growth over the years is a testament to the vision and dedication of the Foundation’s founding members, who dared to dream the impossible. We pay tribute to the late Dr. Tom Patrick, one of the founding board members who created this beloved annual celebration. For eleven years, he served as the master of ceremonies, infusing the event with more door prizes, raffles, fun, and better fundraising results. Uncle Sam’s Birthday Party is a significant fundraiser for the Foundation and an enduring tribute to his memory and his groundbreaking vision for the Foundation.

We invite you to join us in celebrating his legacy and the impact of his vision on our community. For more information or questions, please contact the Foundation office at (304) 478-2930 or by email at edirector@tuckerfoundation.net.

"Tom Patrick was our best friend.  He was inspirational  in good health and even more so as he battled ALS.  It's just amazing that this tiny county, rural as it is, has this much capability centered around philanthropy. It says so much about the people here. It's phenomenal. You don't find this camaraderie anywhere else.  This is a big event and the whole aura of this area is rather inspirational for us and what keeps us coming back."

"In the early days of the Foundation, the board was struggling to figure out how to pay for the telephone, envelopes and postage. So this party was their general fund raiser.  It's  grown as the foundation has grown. It reaches out to the community. We are very blessed that TCF has such wonderful support."

"This is one of the biggest events in Tucker County each year.  Folks really enjoy this celebration. People come from all over the state to attend and folks     travel from places like Texas. It really is a special occasion for a great cause. Lots of grants and community support come from the help this event provides."
