Crimson Shamrock Literacy Fund


TYPE OF FUND:         Field of Interest 

DATE ESTABLISHED:          Initiated: December 2013 

PURPOSE:     To provide project funds for activities that will lead to the improvement of literacy in West Virginia         

DISTRIBUTION:  To be awarded to projects designed to improve literacy and eradicate illiteracy in West Virginia upon the recommendation of the Grants Committee and the approval of the TCF Board of Directors. The award decision is to be based upon the value of the project for improving literacy and eliminating illiteracy in West Virginia. The Board may use applications and point structures in picking recipient.

VARIANCE POWER:  If, in the judgment of the TCF Board of Directors, the restrictions and conditions of the fund become unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community, the TCF Board of Directors maintains the right to modify the terms of this fund.

FUNDING:  Donations are accepted from individuals and rom institutions wishing to promote literacy and eradicate illiteracy in the state of West Virginia.

BACKGROUND:    Dr. David Dunstan Moran and Ms. Lori Leigh Wall are residents of Eglon, West Virginia. They own and operate the Crimson Shamrock Ranch, raising Suri Alpaca and Wensleydale Sheep exclusively for the fine natural fiber market. The farm 120 acres of mountain land and continue to serve the community in professional functions and civic activities. They are both professional engineers with postgraduate educations believe that the future of all humanity, especially in our beautiful mountain region, depends upon full literacy by all of the residents of this great state and continued education and support of all human areas of endeavor.
