Parsons, WV   The Board of Directors of Tucker Community Foundation held their quarterly board meeting February 9th with President David Cooper presiding. In addition to the election of officers, Robert Burns, Executive Director presented the annual budget report and Performance Metrics related to Endowed Funds.  Mr. Burns announced that the deadline to apply for 2011 Scholarship Awards is April 1. 

Officers re-elected for a two year term include President, David Cooper; Vice President Mariwyn Smith; Secretary David Moran; and Treasurer Marvin Parsons.  Dan Bucher and James Cooper were re-elected to serve as members-at-large on the Executive Committee. 

In addition to President Cooper, board members Diane Beall, Mark Doak, Nancy Dotson and Amy Fiorini were re-elected to serve another 3 year term.  Spencer Flanagan was appointed to serve as the Youth Community Volunteer Representative for 2011. 

Lyndsey Nestor of Parsons was elected to her first three year term.  “I am very excited to be a member of the Foundation” Lyndsey stated.  “This gives me the opportunity to be involved and see what happens in the community and who needs our help.  I enjoy hearing many opinions about issues relevant to our communities and I hope to be involved for a long time!” Prior to the election, Lyndsey served on the board as a Youth Community Volunteer Representative.

Lyndsey was valedictorian of Tucker County High School class of 2009.  She is currently a sophomore at Davis & Elkins College majoring in Chemistry.  In addition to attending classes she coaches the Pink Panthers, a Girl’s Basketball Association Team, and she is involved with Little League Basketball in Parsons.  She is the daughter of Craig and Robyn Nestor.

President David Cooper welcomed Lyndsey to the board stating “Your youthful enthusiasm and your interest in the mission of the Foundation will be an asset to the organization”. 

Tucker Community Foundation serves an 8 county region.  The Foundation office is located on the second floor of the Tucker County Board of Education Annex building in Parsons.
