Please take note of the following rules that have been set by the Foundation.  Not adhering to any of these rules will result in immediate disqualification from the Run For It event, and it may also affect your future participation in the event.  All participants are expected to operate within the spirit of the Run For It event and should function ethically and honestly in relation to the event.

Race Rules

  • Switching from the 2k walk to the 5k run/walk on race day is PROHIBITED.
  • 5k run/walk participants can switch to the 2k walk, but must notify staff immediately so their bib chip can be deactivated.
  • 2k walk is untimed, walking only.  Running in the 2k walk is PROHIBITED.
  • Children 3 and under registered for the 5k run/walk will receive a non-chipped bib.
  • In-person race participants must attend the award ceremony to win an award.
  • The only wheeled transportation permitted are wheelchairs and strollers.
  • Dogs are welcome, but must be on a short leash and pick up after.
  • Dogs can’t register for the race but can run/walk with their owners.
  • Runners with dogs must line up at the back of the pack or they will be disqualified.
  • Banners used on-site for the Run For It event must be pre-approved by the Tucker Community Foundation.  There are no exceptions to this rule.
  • Entries are non-transferrable.  Bib switching will result in disqualification.

Team Rules

  • Teams must be registered by August 31, 2024 to participate.
  • To qualify for team awards, a team must have a minimum of five (5) team members.
  • Teams may not represent multiple causes.
  • All solicitations for team sponsor support must state: “Funds are being raised in support of [team cause] for the Tucker Community Foundation Run For It event on September 28, 2024.”  Please refer to page 13 of the 2024 Event Packet for more information.
  • Participants must not provide any goods or services in exchange for a sponsor’s contribution.
  • Participants may send letters and emails to sponsors detailing the event and request donations but may not use the Tucker Community Foundation logo.
  • Team sponsor donations must be postmarked by September 9, 2024.
  • Cash awards must benefit the regions served by the Tucker Community Foundation.
  • Proceeds from entry fees and team sponsor donations may be used outside the Tucker Community Foundation service area as long as it supports the team’s cause as it is stated on the team registration form.

The Tucker Community Foundation reserves the right to review all donations.  If a donation does not conform to the TCF Asset Development Policies, the Foundation has the right to return the donation.  TCF has exclusive legal control over any contributed assets.
