Tucker Community Foundation Scholarships Available

February 4, 2016 – Tucker Community Foundation’s annual scholarship cycle is underway. More than $53,000 will be awarded this May based on a competitive application process to qualifying traditional and non-traditional students from Barbour, Grant, Mineral, Preston, Pocahontas, Randolph and Tucker County, West Virginia and Garrett County, Maryland. Funding is provided by thirty endowed scholarship funds, unrestricted income, and income from the E. Kepler and Alice Mae Degler Smith Trust. Awards range from $500 to $4,000.

High school seniors, college students, students attending technical schools and other non-traditional students (e.g. adults returning to school) are encouraged to apply regardless of their field of study.

A scholarship will be awarded to a post graduate college student from Tucker, Preston or Garrett County who is pursuing a masters, doctorate or professional degree. Tucker County students attending a Christian elementary, middle or high school, or being home schooled employing Christian educational principles and values are encouraged to apply. Applications are available at the Foundation offices located in the Board of Education Annex at 100 Education Lane, Parsons and 774 William Ave, Davis; they can be downloaded at www.tuckerfoundation.net, and high school guidance counselors in the Foundation’s service area have copies for distribution. Completed applications are due by Friday, April 1 (postmark).
