Emily Wilson-Hauger and New Historic Thomas on bridging the gap between trail systems in Thomas.

Emily Wilson-Hauger:

My name is Emily Wilson-Hauger. I work for New Historic Thomas and the area serves mostly the municipality of Thomas itself.

So the City of Thomas and New Historic Thomas have a front park development plan. A major part of that is connecting our trail systems: the Thomas City trails with the Rail Trail and hopefully someday into Davis. And a big part of that trail connection is a pedestrian bridge – multi-use bridge over the Blackwater that would connect the trail systems, also someday to Cortland Acres. We’ve received a grant from West Virginia Department of Highways for bridge design. So we are using this money from the Community Foundation to match that grant.
