FUNDING:  Harry and Liz Boyce provided the initial funding of $5,000, plus $400 to be used for the 2001 Scholarship award.

BACKGROUND:  Harry and Liz Boyce came to Tucker County from Annapolis, MD in 1989, purchased land, and built a vacation home in Canaan Valley.  Over the years they became very fond of the people and the natural beauty of the area.  Upon retiring, they settled permanently in the valley for a number of years, before moving on to homes in Powell, WY and Topsham, ME.  Their desire was to make a contribution to the Tucker Community that they both loved.  Harry served as TCF Vice President from 2000-2004.

Harry and Liz’s parents, Raymond and Jane Boyce and Charles and Hazel Bratton, provided inspiration to them to attend college.  Therefore, in dedication to their parents, Harry and Liz wish to provide a scholarship to high school students of Tucker County who want to further their education.
