BACKGROUND:  James D. Jordan was a native of Covington, Virginia.  He spent many summers on the family farm in Lanesville, WV where he and his wife made their permanent home in l952.  Mr. Jordan had emphysema and had to call the Harman Emergency Medical Squad twice.  He was always grateful and knew the need for their help.  He understood how difficult it was for a volunteer squad to get funding.  The family wanted to honor his memory and help the local volunteer emergency squads by starting this endowment fund.
